Average Ocean Temperatures for New York

Average ocean temperatures for New York state are listed below for each month in degrees Fahrenheit and degrees Celsius.

The three locations with sea temperature averages are Montauk at the east end of Long Island, The Battery off the south tip of Manhattan Island, and Willets Point near the west end of Long Island Sound.

These coastal water temperatures are averages compiled by the US National Oceanographic Data Center of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Actual ocean temperatures do of course vary from year to year depending upon the weather and the flow of ocean currents.
